The Mixed Innovation Units (UMIs) are an initiative based on the creation of multidisciplinary groups between different departments of the Government of Aragon and teams of researchers-technologists of the Technological Institute of Aragon, in a framework of cooperation created to improve internal processes, information management and the provision of public services through differential technologies and digitization as a measure of impact in response to the need to streamline the efficiency of public administrations and especially after the COVID19 crisis.
The purpose of these units is to identify and analyze the information, processes and services carried out in different departments of the Government of Aragon in order to quickly develop prototypes, rapid implementation solutions that ensure the use of the maximum possible information and propose tools to support decision making, and enable a rapid response from the Administration, contributing directly to mitigating the economic and social repercussions produced by the COVID19 health crisis.
All these actions have been worked on since 2020, with different departments of the Government of Aragon, each of them having a particular development.
We have worked in collaboration with the Aragon Health Research Institute (IIS) on different initiatives to alleviate the effects of the crisis on the Aragonese healthcare system. Different projects have been carried out in different areas such as:
