ITAINNOVA’s simulation tools and our professional competences in calculation and advanced simulation of components, have as fundamental objectives the functional evaluation, durability and long term behavior of the different components of products.

      Whether it concerns mechanical components or systems; even when the component is not key to the added value of a product, a mechanical failure can involve a very high image cost, often accompanied by legal implications and, most importantly, a risk to human safety.

    WORK IN CALCULATION AND SIMULATION

    • Complete virtual prototyping of components and systems, integrating fluid dynamic simulations (CFD) for the fluid domain and by the Finite Element Method (FEM) for the solid domain.
    • Integration of CFD / FEM simulations in dynamic models of systems, based on Simulink (c) or OpenModelica (c), which allow to describe the functional behavior of such systems and to evaluate it without the need to build physical prototypes.
    • Application of numerical methodologies for the redesign and optimization of components and structures using topological optimization tools, parametric analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, DoE.

    As a result of using this set of tools, we will collaborate with you in the redesign of the component or system in order to achieve more robust products that incorporate new functionalities, drastically reducing the time-to-market and minimizing the need to build physical prototypes.

    At structures, components and products subjected to mechanical, thermal, tribological or corrosion/environmental stressesand manufactured in metallic, plastic or elastomeric materials, we analyze both the mechanisms that have led to failure (mechanical fatigue, embrittlement, corrosion, stress corrosion, creep, thermal fatigue, abrasion and wear, contact surface fatigue, impact, etc.), and their causes (design, manufacturing, assembly, material, use/maintenance failures).

    In components, products or installations of electrical and electronic systems, possible malfunctions of the product or installation are analyzed, which may be due to communications (Bluetooth, ZigBee, WIFI, ….); to heating; to electromagnetic compatibility, insulation, etc.

    Advice on problem solving or compliance with Electromagnetic Compatibility, Noise and Vibration standards. By relying on the knowledge of the design engineers, and on the possibility of testing the equipment or components to verify that the problem has been solved, solutions can be provided to bring the equipment into compliance or minimize the problem.

    We advise on the Directives and Standards that the product must comply with, the documentation to be done as the CE Marking, which is a requirement to be able to sell products in the European market. We are specialized in Electrical and Electronic machines and products.

    We also advise on quality requirements, how to interpret and apply the standards, and tests to comply with. We can also carry out tests in our laboratories for Electromagnetic Compatibility, Low Voltage Electrical Safety, Vibration and Climatic tests.

    CE Marking application steps

    • Follow the conformity assessment procedure applicable to it.
    • To make the declaration of conformity.
    • Place the CE marking on the product.

    Training:

    Since approximately 2000 we have been providing training courses in CE Marking and other technical subjects such as calibrations. We currently have a CE Marking Training Roadmap of 127 h. .

    In the design and development of any industrial product, the selection of the most suitable material, combining functional and economic requirements, is a key and generally highly complex stage. A system that integrates several materials can be a failure due to the incorrect choice of any one of themThis forces companies to consider multiple selection options for each and every component of a new product, when their technical capabilities are unlikely to include expertise for all of these options.

    To this end, we have fully updated laboratories that are complemented by collaborations with third parties to ensure access to virtually any material test. Support is also given to material selection through simulation of the material and its functional conditions in use, which specifically contemplates computational support through multiphysics and multidomain simulation techniques based on the advanced use of FEM (finite element method) and CFD (computational fluid dynamics) tools.
